As It Arrived
Looked quite tidy for its age but had been recently repainted.
Into Fabrication
Prior to being stripped at the front end for metal work.
Nearside Inner Strut Top
The inner wing has cracked here & the area is generally corroded so new strut tops are recommended.
Nearside Front Outer WIng
The wing is removed revealing the inner wing flitch.
Drivetrain Removal
The shell is lifted off the front subframe & leaves the engine & gearbox sat on the trolley.
Offside Inner Wing
We've cut away the original strut top & treated the reinforcer underneath with anti corrosion paint. We can now attach the new section of inner wing.
Offside Inner WIng
A new inner wing top flitch is created to replace the corroded remnants of the original.
Lower Radiator Box
Looking decidedly crusty & in need of repair.
Lower Radiator Box
Here the strengtheners were removed; the front of the panel replaced & all the sections treated with epoxy primer prior to reassembly.
Nearside Strut Top Repair
After final cleaning back on the upper surface; a similar job has been done from underneath.
Nearside Rear Outer Wing
It is almost folded back on itself behind the light aperture.
Nearside Rear Outer Wing
We've cut away the rear section of the outer wing; it will need shaping & dressing before being refitted.
Nearside Rear Outer Wing
The damaged section of the rear wing is being shaped in our mini english wheel. It is the simplest way to ensure it's profile is reinstated.
Nearside Rear Outer Wheeltub
We cut away the outer wheeltub leaving the inner which we'll need to repair in places.
Outer Wheeltub Support
The support is butt we;ded to the original & welded to the outer arch lip.
Tailgate Trial Fitment
The tailgate is fitted to check the alignment against the rear wing. We have a good even gap down the whole panel.
